Last fall we adopted our puppy, Ozzie, and met Danielle a few weeks later. It was clear from the get-go that Danielle has the experience and knowledge to teach us and Ozzie how to work together to achieve our goals. As Ozzie grew Danielle was able to offer various tips and tools to keep him engaged and interested, and to mitigate undesirable behaviors. In group classes, Danielle customized her approach to each dog in the class and always ensured the safety of each participant. Each class was chock full of new exercises, as well as a review of earlier learnings. It is my pleasure to write this testimonial on behalf of Danielle Annis. Danielle was recommended to me by a friend who had worked with her when she had a dog that needed training. Since we had just welcomed a new pup into our home which already had a 14 month old pup we knew we needed some professional assistance to get off to the right start with basic training. Within minutes of my first phone call with Danielle I knew she could be of great help. She gave me tips over the phone without even meeting us. She gave me a list of items to order that would help us with our training.

Once we started our live sessions with Danielle, we all (especially our dogs) fell in love with her. She exuded knowledge, competence, confidence and commitment to accomplishing our training goals. She was never hesitant to step in and offer extra tips to get our pups to listen, follow commands, and relax. Danielle tweaks her training sessions consistently based upon the needs of the dogs and the owners. I reached out to Danielle of Enlightened K9 to address some challenging behavioral issues we were having with our 6 year old Petite Golden Doodle, Maggie.
-Barking when someone drives into the driveway or comes to the door. It was total pandemonium! She’s barking and we are hollering, STOP!
-Anxious with visitors and grandchildren.
-Protective of my husband and me.
-Car rides had become stressful for her and us.

Izzy is doing fantastic. She’s 18 months old now. She’s into everything. She is such a part of our family! We can’t thank you enough for all that you have done. She is doing fantastic outside off leash. She’s been on the trails with us. We have done swimming with her and tried to do paddle boarding. Izzy is totally deaf and mostly blind, very limited sight in one eye, and it has been quite a challenge to get her trained but because of your talents, and your patience with us and with her, we have the best dog we could ever imagine having. She’s such a part of our family, and we couldn’t imagine a day without her. So thank you so much for everything that you’ve done. Thank you for all your information that you’ve given to us. Thank you so much for introducing us to the E-collar. I’ve never used that before. Honestly, I was quite opposed to an E-collar, but with Izzy’s special needs, it really is the only way that we were able to communicate with her, and it is a very kind way to do that. And I could not be more grateful for your lessons with that, because that gave us such a wonderful family member. Thank you so much for everything!

We were so fortunate to have found Danielle. She guided us impeccably through a series of one-on-one training sessions with our (then 8-month-old) rescue pup, allowing him to ultimately appreciate an off-leash experience with recall. Danielle is truly gifted in that she understands canine behavior – she’s certainly a dog whisperer! When our dog began displaying some unwanted “teenage” behavior, we knew just who to call.
